Dylan4Vets (“we”, “us”, “our”) publishes plain-English guides for U.S. Veterans and families.

What we collect

Server/CDN logs (Cloudflare) - When you visit, our host records your IP address, date/time, requested URL, and user-agent to deliver the site, cache content, and mitigate abuse. Retention: brief and limited (typically days, not months) for security and diagnostics.
Theme preference - If you toggle light/dark mode, we save your choice in your browser's localStorage so the site opens as you left it. This is not a cookie and isn't used for tracking.
If you email us - We receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use it only to reply and support you.

Cookies

We don't set any tracking or advertising cookies. In some cases, our host (Cloudflare) may set strictly-necessary security cookies to protect the site from bots and abuse. Examples include:

__cf_bm - bot-management cookie (short-lived; used to distinguish humans vs. bots).
cf_clearance - a Cloudflare-issued cookie that proves a visitor has successfully passed a security challenge.
__cfruid - used only in the event of network issues/rate-limiting to maintain performance and security.

Third-party providers

We host on Cloudflare Pages (which also provides CDN and security). Cloudflare processes your IP address and similar technical data to deliver and protect the site. We aim to self-host fonts and JavaScript to minimize third-party requests.

Legitimate interests - site security, fraud prevention, and reliability (server/CDN logs; necessary cookies).
