The core site is built around static guides and browser-side calculators, not user profiles.
Welcome,
Privacy Policy
Theme and blog view mode are the main local preferences currently stored by the frontend.
Fonts and the location-based health search are the main places where outside services may be involved.
Overview
Dylan4Vets.com is a free informational website focused on VA rates, family-benefit planning, guides, and state-benefit browsing.
Most calculator inputs, filters, and reading tools run in your browser. This page explains what information may still be processed when you use the site and where third-party requests can happen.
Back to topWhat we may collect or process
- Standard technical request data such as IP address, browser type, device information, page requests, and timestamps may appear in normal hosting or CDN logs.
- Browser-stored preferences such as your saved color theme and, on the blog page, your saved view mode.
- Information you intentionally enter into tools is usually processed locally in your browser unless the specific tool needs to call or open a third-party service.
We do not currently offer user accounts, payments, comments, or a first-party contact form on the site.
Back to topBrowser storage and preferences
The site currently uses localStorage for a small number of functional preferences, including:
- Theme preference for light or dark mode.
- Blog layout preference for the blog carousel or topic view.
As of March 20, 2026, the site's own frontend is designed to rely mainly on localStorage for these preferences rather than setting advertising or analytics cookies.
For storage-specific controls, see the Cookie Policy.
Back to topTools and third-party requests
Some site features load third-party resources or intentionally open third-party services when you use them.
- Google Fonts is used for typography, which means Google may receive standard request data such as your IP address.
- Location-based health search can send a location query to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim geocoder and can open VA.gov's Find Locations tool with the location parameters you choose to use.
- External links in guides and tools may send you to VA.gov, state agencies, or other sites, and those sites apply their own privacy practices.
By contrast, most on-site calculator math, state-benefit filtering, and blog reading behavior is handled in the browser without the site submitting that input back through its own frontend code.
Back to topSharing and sale of data
We do not sell your personal information.
Hosting, CDN, font, or location-service providers may process technical request data when needed to deliver the site or a tool you choose to use.
We also do not currently run first-party advertising trackers or a first-party analytics platform in the site's frontend code.
Back to topYour choices
- You can clear saved site preferences such as theme and blog view mode through your browser or through the controls on the Cookie Policy page.
- You can block cookies or local storage in your browser, though some convenience features may stop remembering your settings.
- If you do not want a location query sent to a third-party service, do not use the location-based health tool.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the site's own frontend features.
If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 was provided through a channel we control, we would aim to remove it when reasonably practical.
